The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic could be two of the most exciting smart watches we have seen in years, packed a new version of Wear OS, a new chipset and new health features. But if you have an iPhone, you will not be able to experience any of this.
Samsung confirmed both Arstechnica, saying that you can not pair an iPhone with the Galaxy Watch 4 or the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. That is a major change, since the previous models of Samsung Galaxy Watch worked with iPhone (and will continue to do so in accordance with this report).
Of course, these new ones run Wear OS instead of Tizen, but previous use watches also work with iOS, so it remains a surprising change. What is not yet clear is if other watches running the new version of Wear OS (used OS 3) will work with iPhones or not, but I guess they will not, otherwise, this would be an even more solar restriction so that Samsung placed in its new wearables.

That said, it is worth noting that the range of Galaxy Watch 4 operates a modified version of Wear OS 3 doubled a clock UI 3, so it is possible that it causes problems of iOS compatibility that will not be present in other Watches OS 3.
But that is not the only problem that potential buyers can find, as Samsung also confirmed Android Central, that many of the health tracking features, including the ECG, the monitoring of blood pressure and body composition, will only work If you match a classic Galaxy Watch 4 or Watch 4 watch with a Samsung smartphone.
This is less surprising, since Samsung placed similar restrictions on previous models in the range, but it does mean that some of the key sales points will not be available for most Android users.

Wear has it until now a bumpy trip, with smart watches that run it often suffer from poor performance, and Google is not upgrading the platform as often as it should probably have done it. With the new use OS 3, the company has the opportunity to revitalize the platform, but to make so few barriers needed possible.
The lack of support from iOS is a big problem, given how many people have the iPhones. And safe, most of them would probably buy an Apple watch, but when wear OS is a tempting alternative, Google and Samsung could convert a good number of buyers.
Of course, it remains to be seen if the use OS 3 will admit iOS in other intelligent watches, but we are not optimistic.
Samsung’s decision to limit features to users of Samsung’s phones, while will hurt the Galaxy Watch 4 rank more than use the operating system as a whole, but with these watches are the first and, currently, just to execute Use OS 3, all eyes will be in them, so this is not a great first impression.
There may be technical reasons for some of this, but nothing of it inspires confidence that using OS will finally be a platform for rival of Watches, or even Tizen.
