Measaan talks about working as an assistant director in Gangubai Kathiawadi, after having made his debut as an actor, and said that he did not understand why it was seen ‘degrading’.
Meshaan actor made a Bollywood debut with Malaal in 2019 and signed his second film, Hungama 2, the same year. In a new interview, he talked about working as an assistant director in the set of Gangubai Kathiawadi, after being an actor.
Previously, Measise Assisted Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Padmaivat and even played actor Ranveer Singh Double in one scene.
In an interview with FilmFare, Meshaan talked about being part of Kathiawadi Gangubai after one of the assistants fell ill. He said that he learned a lot from watching Actor Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devn in the set.
“Many people are arranged surprised that you know, because you really don’t see the actor as soon as they start working, back on the set, helping for one or two days, holding a pat, running interesting junior artist together. You know junior artists at Sanjay Sir’s The set is 300 on average. They all come and tell me ‘How are you’, and I don’t know why we think of these things as humbling, like ‘Oh, someone returns to help’ and things like that, but I think it’s just helpful things in the future and help you evolve, they help you grow and they help you learn a lot, “he said.
Meezaan said that he did not have a hang-up about working as an assistant director just because he was an actor now. “But you know I ran in the set, and tied a junior shoelace, making them wear chappal and run, do whatever work to do in the set. I like the filmmaking process, so all this is not a problem for me,” he said.
Meeraan is actor son Jaived Jaafer. He was launched by Sanjay in its production, Malaal, in 2019. Earlier this year, he was seen in Priyadarshan comedy, Hungama 2, with Shilpa Shetty, Paresh Rawal and Pranitha Subhash. He has not announced the next project.
